Church History

Founded with a Tent Revival - 1948

In 1948, Rev. Paul Price bought his family to Napa Valley, with the mission to establish a United Pentecostal Church. The first services were held on Soscol Avenue in a large tent and the community was invited to worship as a congregation.

The Church on the Hill

Within a few years the church purchased land on East Avenue on which to build. The property was on a small hill overlooking Napa. It soon became known as “the Church on the Hill.”

Growth Prompts Move to 1st Street

Once again growth determined the need to move to a larger property. The land was purchased on First Street that presented opportunity for future growth and became known as New Life Tabernacle. Much dedication and donated labor brought the fulfillment of this dream into reality. During a couple of decades, the campus also served the community with a private school, New Life Academy. Grades kindergarten through twelfth were taught and successfully graduated many young people into their life careers.

Pastors Clayton Brown & Tim Bledsoe

In the early 1980 Rev. and Mrs. Clayton Brown joined Rev. Paul Price as his assistant Pastor. In the early 2000’s, after many years of faithful service, Rev. Brown was chosen to succeed Rev. Price as pastor of New Life.

In 2014, Rev. Timothy and Rebecca Bledsoe assumed pastorate of this great church. Today, New Life Napa is a thriving fellowship of committed believers ready to forge ahead into the future.
